Session Overview

In the face of recurring crises—conflict, climate shocks, economic instability—many countries are charting a new path forward: linking emergency response to long-term food systems transformation. This session highlights how leadership, evidence, and financing are aligning to turn fragile systems into resilient, inclusive ones. The discussion will spotlight practical strategies being used to shift from short-term aid to sustainable solutions. It will explore how cross-sector partnerships and innovative investments can reduce dependency on humanitarian assistance and support transformation even in the most complex settings. Bringing together voices from government, financial institutions, UN agencies, civil society, and the private sector, the session will elevate scalable, locally led efforts and explore how regional frameworks can support real progress. At its core, this session is about changing how we respond to crisis—by investing in resilience, centering local priorities, and designing systems that work for communities most at risk.
