Thailand has taken a major step forward in aligning its food systems transformation with climate action through the National Convergence Inception Workshop, held from 19–21 May 2025 in Bangkok. The workshop brought together representatives from government ministries, UN agencies, civil society, research institutions and the private sector to launch the Convergence Initiative—a global effort to drive coherence across food, climate and development agendas.

From 7-9 April 2025, leaders and changemakers from across Latin America and the Caribbean gathered to attend the Regional Preparatory Meeting for the 2nd UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4) in Santiago, Chile. Organized by the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub (the Hub) in collaboration with the UN Interagency Task Force for Latin America and the Caribbean, the three-day event marked a pivotal moment to assess progress, renewed commitments, and aligned priorities ahead of the global UNFSS+4 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia this July.

Global agrifood systems are at a critical juncture. Despite economic growth and reducing poverty over recent decades, far too many people still suffer from malnutrition and undernutrition, and rising obesity remains widespread. At the same time, unsustainable agricultural practices are eroding natural resources and contributing to climate change. Urgent action to transform food systems is needed to ensure a healthier, more equitable, and environmentally sound future.
