COP28 declaration on agriculture, food and climate action
The COP28 Presidency has garnered support from 134 world leaders for its groundbreaking agriculture, food, and climate action declaration, accompanied by over USD$2.5 billion in funding for food security and climate change initiatives. This declaration, endorsed by countries representing over 5.7 billion people, emphasizes the vital role in transforming food systems to combat climate change, reduce emissions, and address global hunger, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

At its seventy-eighth session, the Economic and Financial Committee (Second Committee) of the General Assembly adopted multiple resolutions where Member States reaffirm the importance of the UN Food Systems Summit process and look forward to the upcoming UNFSS+4 Stocktaking in 2025.

CIRAD, INRAE, IRD and France's Permanent Representation to the United Nations in Rome are co-organizing the third edition of the International Science Festival: agriculture - food - environment on November 22 from 1 pm to 3:30 pm.
The Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS) has developed a compilation of applicable technologies to support the establishment of sustainable food systems in the Asia-Monsoon region.
