Transforming Food Systems through Nutrition-Sensitive and Climate-Adaptive Social Protection Systems

PROJECT TITLE | Agri-Food System Transformation and Innovation in Nigeria |
Context | Nigeria’s National Pathway identifies 6 country solution clusters, that build on existing inter-ministerial policies. The clusters focus on increased agricultural productivity and food security awareness, inclusive and sustainable food systems, improved livelihoods through strengthened value chains, enhanced demand for nutritious food, risk mitigation and enhanced regulation standards, direct link between innovation and extension services reach out. Nigeria has established a robust, multilevel and multisectoral food systems governance structure led by the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. The platform for the Pathway implementation has been strengthened by constituting a multi-stakeholder National Task Team and a National Steering Committee that works as a think tank and coordination body. |
