PROJECT TITLE | Technical-Financial Facility to Enable the Structural Transformation of Colombia’s Food Systems |
| Context | Colombia’s agri-food system is shaped by deep territorial inequalities, high levels of food insecurity, climate vulnerability, and limited financial inclusion of rural producers. Small-scale productive units (SSPUs) form the backbone of local food supply and rural economies, yet face systemic exclusion from credit, insurance, and structured markets. The national food systems pathway highlights the need for productive transformation, healthier diets, and resilience. The Joint Programme responds by creating a national Technical-Financial Facility that bridges the gap between financial institutions and SSPUs, enabling them to invest in climate-smart, nature-positive, and nutritionally aligned production systems. |
