PROJECT TITLE

Driving Climate Resilience and Nature Positive Value Chain Development in Ghana – Private Sector Driven and Public Sector Enabled

Context

Ghana’s food system faces persistent challenges linked to land degradation, low productivity, climate vulnerability, and limited access to finance for smallholders and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in the northern regions. Women and youth, who make up a significant share of soybean producers and processors, face barriers to inputs, technology, and markets. Soybean presents a strategic entry point for transformation: as a nitrogen fixing, drought tolerant crop with high national demand for food and feed, it supports soil restoration, income generation, and nutritional improvements. The Joint Programme aims to strengthen regenerative production, expand processing capacity, improve policy coherence, and unlock blended finance to support inclusive value chain growth.
