Resilient food systems depend on greater coherence across food systems, climate, health, nutrition, biodiversity, land and sustainable development agendas. Yet fragmented governance, limited cross-sectoral coordination, financing gaps and capacity constraints can make integrated action difficult at country level.

Held on the sidelines of the 54th Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS54), this side event will bring together country and local experiences with global perspectives to examine how policy coherence can work in practice. The discussion will share lessons on connecting global processes with national priorities, aligning policies, investments and implementation, and strengthening support for country-led action.

The event is co-organized by Switzerland’s Federal Office for Agriculture, the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub, the One Planet Network Sustainable Food Systems Programme, FAO, Brazil’s Ministry of Social Development, Family and Fight Against Hunger, and supported by the UN-Nutrition Secretariat.
