Food Systems Solutions Webinar 2025 | Leveraging the Rio Conventions for sustainable food systems transformation
Virtual Event, 19/11/2025
19 November 2025 | 14:00 – 15:30 (CET) | Virtual
This webinar is organized in partnership with the Committee on World Food Security (CFS), the Agroecology Coalition and the Coalition of Action for Soil Health (CA4SH). The webinar will examine how harnessing the synergies between the three Rio Conventions—the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)—can drive sustainable food systems transformation, accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and deliver transformative results. The webinar will build on the outcomes of the High Level Forum on tackling climate change, biodiversity loss and land degradation through the Right to Food organized by the CFS in May 2025. Discussion will focus on opportunities for enhancing coherence across biodiversity, climate and land agendas, how the Right to Food framework, agroecology and other nature-positive approaches can contribute to achieving the objectives of the Rio Conventions, and highlight lessons learned from country level integrated programming.
