Join us for a side event at the Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Forum on Sustainable Development 2024: “Food Systems Transformation as Accelerator for the SDGs Implementation in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Region.”

This session emerges against the backdrop of the UN Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment (UNFSS+2) in 2023, highlighting the potential of sustainable, inclusive, nutritious, and resilient food systems as key drivers for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We delve into the challenges and opportunities for transforming food systems, building on key outcomes of the UNFSS+2, the SDGs Summit, and COP28, to identify essential steps and align with climate action efforts at national and regional levels.

This session will feature insightful keynotes and a panel discussion with a wide array of stakeholders from the LAC region, including government officials, National Convenors, CSOs, and the private sector. The agenda is set to encourage a robust dialogue on the progress of food systems transformation, spotlighting the tools, resources, and collaborative strategies necessary to support the national pathways towards achieving the SDGs. Focusing on SDGs 1 (No Poverty), 2 (Zero Hunger), 13 (Climate Action), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), this event will explore transformative solutions addressing the critical food-climate nexus.
