Advancing a just and inclusive food systems transition requires stronger coordination between food systems and climate policies, alongside meaningful participation from family farmers, local communities and other stakeholders.
Building on the outcomes of COP30 in Belém, this side event will explore progress under two Plans to Accelerate Solutions (PAS): PAS COACT, which promotes convergence and coherence between food systems policies and climate action, and PAS TERRA, which focuses on resilient and restorative agroecology and agroforestry.
Bringing together representatives from governments, academia, international organizations and civil society, the discussion will highlight practical experiences in capacity development, participatory governance and the contributions of family farming to sustainable food systems. It will also examine how these initiatives can complement one another and support the implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and the outcomes of the Global Stocktake.
