From Dubai, Addis Ababa to Belém: Country leadership to deliver food systems transformation and climate action
Hybrid Event, 20/11/2025
20 November, Time TBC (Belém / GMT-3) – Thematic Hub, Co-organized by the Alliance of Champions for Food Systems Transformation (ACF).
High-level Ministerial dialogue showcasing how countries are leading on food systems transformation and climate action policies. Two years since the COP28 Emirates Declaration on Sustainable Agriculture, Resilient Food Systems, and Climate Action, and following the UN Food Systems Summit (UNFSS+4) Call to Action, governments will demonstrate how they are delivering on these ambitious commitments, tackling trade-offs and driving policy convergence on food systems and climate action. This event has the potential to support the COP30 Declaration Hunger, Poverty and Climate.
Convened by the UN Food Systems Hub Convergence Initiative1 and the ACF 2, this session has two key objectives:
- Show how countries are delivering against the 2023 Emirates Declaration and responding to the Secretary-General’s 2025 UNFSS+4 Call to Action, including by:
- Facilitating whole-of-government approaches, for example as ACF countries working to identify and tackle trade-offs between different aspects of food systems transformation, and/or through the development of Convergence Action Blueprints that support the integration of food–climate priorities into national plans and investment frameworks, and
- Fostering peer learning and cooperation, via regional and global exchanges to strengthen capacity and knowledge sharing.
- Set out a path forward after COP30:
- Announcing new ACF members, and this high-ambition coalition’s vision to 2030
- Highlighting additional countries participating in the Convergence Initiative, and setting out its next phase
