Overview
Egypt is launching its first national dialogue under the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub’s Convergence Initiative - a global effort to align food systems transformation with climate action. Convened by Egypt’s National Committee for Food and Nutrition Systems and chaired by the Office of the Prime Minister, this three-day Inception Workshop will bring together key government actors, climate and food systems focal points, development partners, and private sector stakeholders to chart a unified path forward.
The workshop will foster inclusive, cross-sectoral dialogue and collaboration to co-develop Egypt’s Convergence Action Blueprint (CAB)—a strategic framework to unlock investments and drive integrated, sustainable action across food, climate, water, and nutrition agendas.
Objectives
- Assess the current status of Egypt’s food systems, climate policies, and nutrition priorities
- Build a shared national vision for convergence across sectors
- Identify key interventions, financing needs, and private sector opportunities
- Develop a monitoring framework to track progress toward climate-resilient food systems
- Contribute to Egypt’s input for the UNFSS+4 Stocktake and COP30
