Dr Stefanos Foutou, Director of the Hub and Dr Nicole DePaula, Technical Officer at the Hub, are proud to share a new op-ed, “Youth Lead Food System Revolution,” published this week in the Bangkok Post. The piece highlights the critical role young people are playing in reshaping food systems to be more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient.

Released following the Preparatory Youth Conference for the 2nd UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake in Bangkok, the article features youth leaders from across the world who are driving real change through agroecology, urban farming, regenerative practices, and policy advocacy. Their message is clear: youth are not just the future of food systems - they are leading transformation now.

This gathering marks a critical milestone on the road to the UN Food Systems Summit +4 Stocktake (UNFSS+4), which will take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, this July. As the global community prepares to take stock of progress and renew commitments, it is vital that youth voices are heard and supported as agents of change.
