The UN Food Systems Coordination Hub at COP30
Join the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub at COP30 in Belém, Brazil, where we continue to advance the alignment of food systems transformation and climate action. Now in its third year participating in the UN Climate Change Conference, the Hub works closely with key partners – including UN agencies, Resident Coordinators, UN Country Teams, and the broader Ecosystem of Support – to provide systemic and tailored assistance to countries and National Food Systems Convenors driving this alignment.
Following the UNFSS+4 and the Secretary-General’s Call to Action, we are collaborating with countries engaged in the Food Systems and Climate Action Convergence Initiative at COP30 to bring food systems discussions across pavilions and high-level spaces, highlighting how integrated policies can deliver impact across climate, nutrition, and the Sustainable Development Goals.

COP30 ACTION AGENDA
Axis III — Transforming Agriculture and Food Systems
As part of Brazil’s COP30 Action Agenda, the Hub is contributing to Axis III, which focuses on Transforming Agriculture and Food Systems. This Axis highlights the central role of food systems in achieving climate, biodiversity, and development goals.
Our engagement under Axis III centers on:
- Promoting land restoration and sustainable agriculture
- Building resilient, adaptive, and sustainable food systems
- Ensuring equitable access to adequate food and nutrition for all
ALIGNING FOOD SYSTEMS AND CLIMATE ACTION
The Convergence Initiative
Launched by the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General at COP28, the Convergence Initiative helps countries and National Convenors align food systems transformation with climate action – linking national food systems pathways, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), National Adaptation Plans (NAPs), finance mechanisms, and implementation partners. At COP30, we will spotlight country progress and practical tools that translate strategies into tangible results.
