The draft programme for the Second UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4), scheduled to take place from 27 to 29 July 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, has been officially released. This high-profile global gathering will bring together world leaders, policymakers, innovators, and grassroots voices from every corner of the globe to assess progress and inspire bold, collective action for sustainable, inclusive, and resilient food systems.

The public consultation on the draft UNFSS+4 Independent Stakeholder Report is open for contributions until 6 June 2025. Non-state actors are encouraged to read the draft report and provide feedback and reflections in response to the report and to guiding questions. 

LAC Regional Meeting

From 7-9 April 2025, leaders and changemakers from across Latin America and the Caribbean gathered to attend the Regional Preparatory Meeting for the 2nd UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4) in Santiago, Chile. Organized by the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub (the Hub) in collaboration with the UN Interagency Task Force for Latin America and the Caribbean, the three-day event marked a pivotal moment to assess progress, renewed commitments, and aligned priorities ahead of the global UNFSS+4 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia this July.

Global agrifood systems are at a critical juncture. Despite economic growth and reducing poverty over recent decades, far too many people still suffer from malnutrition and undernutrition, and rising obesity remains widespread. At the same time, unsustainable agricultural practices are eroding natural resources and contributing to climate change. Urgent action to transform food systems is needed to ensure a healthier, more equitable, and environmentally sound future.
