The 2nd School Meals Coalition Global Summit, hosted by Brazil under President Lula’s patronage on 18–19 September in Fortaleza, was the largest global gathering on school meals ever organized, with over 40 new commitments and 50 Voluntary National Reviews. The latest edition of the State of School Feeding Worldwide report, presented at the Summit, revealed 466 million children now benefit from school meals.

The Chair of the Zero Hunger Coalition, Dr. Ibrahim Mayaki, and Habib Ur Rehman Mayar, Deputy Secretary-General of the g7+ Secretariat, co-authored an opinion piece titled Rethinking Debt, Reclaiming Resilience”. Their reflections build on discussions held during a side event on debt and food security in fragile settings, co-organised by the Zero Hunger Coalition and the HDP Nexus Coalition during the UN Food Systems Summit +4 Stocktaking Moment (UNFSS+4).

The Coalition of Action 4 Soil Health (CA4SH) is officially registered as a Climate Change Initiative (CCI) under the UNFCCC’s NAZCA platform! This recognition strengthens our role in driving global action and aligns with the COP30 Action Agenda, where soil health is increasingly recognised as a cornerstone of food systems transformation, climate resilience, and biodiversity protection.

The United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) and the Let’s Food association have recently launched a new Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). It aims to raise awareness among local food system stakeholders, elected officials, and the general public about the initiatives and policies implemented by local and regional governments around the world to combat food insecurity.
